Insecurity--Vanity's evil little cousin

Now I'm not saying that Vanity is Insecurity's good cousin--they're just as evil. Their only difference is that Vanity's so busy being stuck up while Insecurity's stuck down.

You know those times when you look at the mirror, stare at your face and then you all feel so crappy afterwards? It just recently struck me that when you're feeling insecure about yourself, you aren't even looking at yourself anymore! You're just looking at your insecurities themselves.

Stare at yourself on the mirror and all you see are pimples. Stand naked in your room and all you see are flabs. Seriously, it just goes on and on and on and nothing ever happens! You just feel so depressed afterwards and you'll do nothing but complain about it. It becomes a downward spiral until you'll probably sink so low that you get stuck in a rut.

I'm not saying that it's impossible to get up once you're so low. It just feels as if you'll never get up again, feeling so weak and helpless. Trust me, I've been there. We all can stand up again, some people would need help from others. However, it is up to them if they want to get helped. Ultimately, it's up to you to decide if you want to help yourself. 

It's up to you to decide if you want to get up or not. 

I've been at the bottom of the stairs before. I've been at the deepest rut. It left me hurting--I hurt myself. But I got up--when I decided to help myself. It needs strength and perseverance, but it's for your own good. 

It takes just a push to fall down a cliff, but strength and perseverance to climb a mountain.

I was supposed to make a post about parrots but I voted against it since it wasn't much of an issue :o . I'll probably post about Jerry Falwell next time.
